Molded Pulp Packaging for Gardening

Different people are looking for the most convenient ways to get their jobs done. Some people in such a category are gardeners. Gardeners have nursery beds to allow their flowers or trees to grow before they are transferred into the earth, where they would flourish without borders. For many years most of these farm owners have used plastics and cellophane bags to contain the soil where the flowers were planted. Transplanting them into the earth has the challenge of being careful to not spoil the root and shoot. They have to ensure the soil is still properly clinging to the root. Molded pulp is changing all of these things now.

Considering strength, having been manufactured from recycled and solidified paper, the molded pulp has been a terrific choice for gardeners now. Manufacturers of sustainable packaging are making more flower pots and jars with this material. Molded pulp is not only used for egg crates; they have far more applications now.

The choice of molded pulp for nurseries came from the consciousness of convenience and eco-friendly packaging. With this product, transplanting is easier. First off, there is no need to worry about the breaking of the soil around the roots when the pot is removed. That is because you would not need to be removing the pot. The pulp itself is biodegradable, so no need to remove it during transplanting.

Furthermore, the pulp is a permeable membrane; that is, it can soak. So, it allows water, oxygen, and other soil minerals to permeate into the root once placed in the soil. Everyone knows that the effectiveness of a plant’s growth is dependent on its access to the right mineral resources and in the right quantities. Planting with plastic cannot allow for that in any way. Hence, planters have to first extract the plant and soil from the plastic before transplanting. However, once molded pulp becomes soaked, it allows for osmosis, which brings in the appropriate materials. In fact, some products have air spaces that allow air to come in and the interaction of microorganisms with the plant’s root nodes.

In the earth, the paper soaks, loses the molecular bonds, and disintegrates into the earth.

Are you looking to get some for your garden? You are making the right choice, as they:

  1. Favor soil-root compactness
  2. Are ecofriendly
  3. Allow transmission of mineral resources.
  4. You may reach out to a manufacturer for a custom-molded paper just for you.
