Uno strategy you must know

Keep reading to know all about how to play uno.

Keep in mind that the goal of Uno is to get rid of all of your cards while causing the other players to get more. Always keep track of your opponent’s card count.

Keep an eye out for your opponent’s cards. Before drawing, reserve it back so that the player before you has to draw again.

If a player has a large number of cards but still switches to a different colour, you should rapidly change the colour back to prevent him from being able to get rid of an excessive number of cards.

The same applies when your opponent must maintain drawing cards of a certain colour to keep playing cards of that colour.

+2 and +4 should be kept on hand in case of an emergency.

For later in the game, keep some of these cards in your deck. Playing them too early means you’ll run out of time if you need them in the middle of the night.

Once the number of cards in play drops below three, it is time to use your cards.

Maintain a low score at all times.

Color-matching games always require the largest number of points you have, thus it’s always best to play the highest number you have first. The 0 card is an exception because there are only four of them and getting rid of them is difficult.

Try to swap to a colour that gives you the most points.

Get rid of your Wild Draw 4 and Wild card when the game is almost ended because they are worth 50 points. Throw away your other special cards as well.

Colors should be rotated frequently.

It’s common practise for players to hold onto a hue for the longest feasible time before switching to a new one. According to this, each player should receive an equal amount of cards in each colour. This includes the colours in your hand, as well as those you’ll draw later.

Having a multicoloured hand ensures that you will always have a playable card if you frequently switch colours. As a result, you won’t have to make as many draws.

In addition, it’s a good idea to confuse your rivals. They’ll have a hard time figuring out what colours you’re holding. You can use uno and earn money playing games easily,

Action cards can be used to your advantage if used correctly.

You must time your use of action cards perfectly. To avoid playing them too early or too late, you should play them in the middle of the game. Always keep track of your opponent’s cards and see if you need to take action before you do so.

  • In a two-player game, reverse cards are used as skip cards, so keep this in mind.
  • If your opponents have less cards, use wild cards (+4), but be careful.
  • To avoid drawing a card if you don’t have a colour in common with your opponent, throw a wild card (a colour card) LAST if you can.
  • If you’re down to three or four cards (of varying colours), drawing is preferable than using the Wild card.
  • To take down the leader, play together rather than selfishly.

A player must draw a card if he or she has only one card left and the current card colour is not theirs. Play this colour as much as you can, but make sure you do so as a group.

It’s best to draw and let the other players continue the colour if, for example, the table has a red 5 but you only have a blue 5.

In order to keep the player from exiting the game, use the action cards.

Getting rid of Cards

Make the most useable cards possible. Colors and numerals should be matched as much as possible. Unplayable discards are reduced by each additional card with a different number.

The majority of the time, players try to finish with two cards of a different colour. Your final two cards should have only one colour on them. Single cards are played first in three-card games.

Don’t let someone go out on their own

The only way to stop a player with one card left is to do whatever it takes. Alternatively, you can look at the cards that have been discarded and those that are in your hand to see which colour has the fewest remaining cards. Change the colour to something like this.

Playing an action card like the skip or reverse card, or even better, the +2 or +4 card, can be helpful if you’re having trouble.

Look for folks who fail to declare Uno when they are dealt a card, too. If you take advantage of this, you’ll receive an additional two cards.
