The Different Food Culture Of East Asian Countries

Food is always a big part of any culture. The staple food of every culture shows the cultural evolution and heritage of the tribe. Asian food is one of the most sought-after food in recent times. In modern times, people are open and accepting of culture and food from different parts of the world other than their familiar regions. Asian food is very popular in western society due to many reasons. 

East Asian foods like Chinese food or Japanese classics like sushi or California Maki (แค ลิ เนีย มา กิ, which is the term in Thai) are very sought-after diseases and considered very posh in western society. South Asian foods are known for their diversity and how different it is from the western culture. South Asian foods like Indian food, Rice, and wheat is the most common staple food. But apart from that south Asian foods are known for their incredible spices and flavors. If we go on details about Asian foods certain classic dishes come to our mind representing every part of Asia. 

East Asia 

Geographically speaking East Asia comprises China, Japan, Taiwan, North Korea, and South Korea. The East Asian food culture differs in every state and is unique to their heritage. The main difference between east Asian food and western food is that most east Indian dishes are very healthy, nutritious and light and none greasy. 

China 

Chinese people take their food very seriously. It is an accurate representation of their age-old culture. The main form of carbohydrates in China is rice and wheat. So rice is always found in Chinese cuisine in many forms like fried rice or simple boiled rice with some soup and meat. Wheat is consumed in the form of different wheat noodles and dumplings. As south and east china is covered by water bodies, some of the fish and seafood dishes are originated from China like oyster sauce.

Japan 

Japanese cuisine is probably the most famous cuisine in the world. It mostly comprises rich noodles, tofu, soup, rice, sushi which is rice flavored with vinegar or some sauce, and California maki which is a Japanese roll filled with fish, sushi rice, and some seaweed paper.

Taiwan 

Taiwan also known as the Republic of China shares its heritage and food culture more or less like China. Hot pots, zongzi are some of the classics.

North And South Korea 

Kimchi and rice are a staple food for Korean people.
