What is the very first thing that springs to mind when someone mentions the Japanese spring? the cherry blossom season, of course! It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to spread a picnic blanket beneath cherry trees with family or a significant other and enjoy cuisine while admiring the pink blossoms. Additionally, community members, many of whom are wearing kimonos, can be seen taking photographs of the cherry blossoms.

March to May is Japan’s peak travel season, and during this period, tens of thousands of Japanese and foreign tourists visit the country to view the cherry blossoms. It is highly recommended that first-time tourists to Japan watch the cherry blossoms in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. These three cities are the most popular tourist destinations in Japan overall. However, if you want to have cherry blossom tours Japan to less congested destinations, Hokkaido may be a better alternative for you.

When to Visit Japan’s Cherry Blossom Cities and Why

Late March and early April are often regarded as the optimal times to view cherry blossoms. Because the climate of each region in Japan is distinct, the timing of blossoming might vary considerably. Beginning in January on the southern Japanese island of Okinawa and lasting through the month of May in the northern Japanese prefecture of Hokkaido.

Due to the Shinkansen, it is suggested that you visit Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka on your first vacation to Japan, as these three cities are readily connected (high-speed railway). You should consider returning to Japan via Sapporo, which is located in Hokkaido.

Where is the best location for viewing the cherry blossoms?

Each of the following three destinations is easily accessible and may be visited in a single day. Even if you do not have a great deal of time, it is strongly encouraged that you visit one of these three locations. Chidorigafuchi is the finest location for seeing illuminated cherry blossoms at night. Chidorigafuchi is a Japanese location.

    Shinjuku Gyoen

This well-designed park is one of Tokyo’s largest gardens, and it is located in the Shinjuku business district. It contains about 1,100 cherry trees of 65 distinct varieties, and their spring blossoms are very breathtaking.

During this time, the stores in the garden are packed with cherry blossom-themed snacks, merchandise, and handcrafted gifts. It is a delightful fantasy to enjoy a picnic on the garden’s grass while admiring the cherry blossoms in the springtime sun.

Ueno Park Ueno Park is the most popular place in Tokyo to view cherry blossoms, but it is also a very busy and congested neighbourhood. It contains over a thousand cherry trees, each of which attains its own unique splendour each spring when they blossom. As the native Japanese do, spread out a picnic blanket beneath a tree and enjoy refreshments while watching the cherry blossoms sway in the spring breeze. This is a frequent occurrence in Japan.

Chidorigafuchi is also available for evening meals

Chidorigafuchi is widely recognised as one of the most photogenic cherry blossom viewing locations in all of Tokyo. You can take shots of both the cherry blossoms and the outer walls of Edo Castle, the beauty of one complementing and enhancing the other.

When in full bloom, the cherry trees on either side of the road convert the roadway into a pink tunnel. Alternately, you can go on a boating excursion on the lake… When the cherry blossoms are in bloom along the shore, sailing is a unique and amazing experience.
