Egypt has always been famous for the lovely architecture of its pyramids and tombs. Many people still visit Egypt to enjoy this breathtaking view. There is no better place to visit than ancient Egyptian tombs at the iconic Sphinx on the outskirts of Cairo or the Giza Pyramids. Many treasures have been recovered from King Tut’s tomb and kept in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Recently in the world news, Egypt has also documented and restored the Middle Kingdom tomb of Meru for tourists. It is one of the oldest sites that the public can access on Luxor’s West Bank.

The West Bank of Luxor is already home to many spectacular Pharaonic monuments. Visitors can have the pleasure of seeing the ancient architecture up close.

Fathi Yassin’s Opinion on Historic Beauty:

Meru is at the top ranking ranked at the top in the 11th Dynasty’s King Mentuhotep II court. He was ruler until 2004 B.C. Just like Meru was buried at the North Asasif necropolis. Ministry released a statement sharing all these details on Thursday, February 9. The General Director of Antiquities, Fathi Yassin from Upper Egypt, also stated that it is one of the first sites you can come across in Western Thebes during the early period. He further added that visitors can access it and enjoy its historic beauty.

Why Meru’s rock-hewn tomb is popular

The tomb of Meru is popular since the middle of the 19th century. The findings from Polish Egyptian archaeological research conclude that it has prominent officials of the middle kingdom were buried at North Asasif. The tomb of Meru might be an ancient archaeological site, but it required dedicated cleaning and finishing. For this reason, in 1996, Italian conservators took the initiative and even cleaned some wall paintings.

Presently, the Polish Centre for Mediterranean Archaeology has restored Meru’s rock-hewn tomb at Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities and the University of Warsaw.

The tomb faces Mentuhotep II’s temple procession avenue. It has a corridor leading to a chapel that has a statue niche prepared for the deceased. There is also a burial shift descent to a burial chamber with a sarcophagus.

This is the only room in the tomb decorated with some unique paintings on lime plaster.

Explore the ancient Egyptian tombs and enjoy a luxurious Nile cruise that is worth your time and money. After the recent availability of Meru’s tomb for visitors, Egypt is not getting flooded with many tourists to enjoy this scenic beauty. Considering the demand from tourists to enjoy this tomb, the authorities are now coming up with some preventive measures so the ancient architecture is restored while tourists can enjoy it. It is one of the best interesting world news stories that many people liked, especially tourists planning their next trip to Egypt.
